Yard Shoe
What is the Kujo Yard Shoe?
The Kujo Yard Shoe was the first product we came up with when we launched Kujo Yardwear in 2018. The goal was to create something lighter & more comfortable than a heavy work boot, but more functional and durable than a regular sneaker. We put in water-resistance where it matters most (toecap), and kept the upper breathable for hot afternoons. Under the foot, the Yard Shoe has an EVA cushioned midsole with an aggressive rubber sole designed for the outdoors. It’s great for Lawn Care, Hiking, Yard Work, Walking the Dog, and really any sort of outdoor project.

Yard Shoe vs Jax - What Kujo shoe is best for me?
The Yard Shoe and Jax share the same aggressive Rubber Sole and Cushioned midsole. They both also have the same DewGuard Toe cap to keep feet dry in wet grass, while still being breathable. The main difference is that the Yard Shoes are a lace up option and are a bit more breathable, while the Jax are laceless and offer slightly better water-resistance.

Kujo Jax
What is the Kujo Jax?
The Kujo Jax is our “no laces” pull-on option for people who want to quickly take their shoes on and off while keeping debris out. It has everything you’re looking for in a good outdoor work shoe - Water-Resistance, some breathability, keeps your socks clean, aggressive grip, and light-weight cushioned comfort. We have a lot of people who use these for lawn care, landscaping and gardening - but also anytime you might head out in wet terrain (kid’s soccer games, hiking, walking the dog, etc).

Kujo X1 Landscape Boot
What is the Kujo X1 Landscape Boot?
The Kujo X1 Landscape Boot is our footwear option with a composite safety-toe. We chose composite because it’s lightweight, but just as strong as steel toes. In addition to the lightweight toe protection, the X1 Landscape boot has good water-resistance, some breathable vents, cushioned comfort, and a really good grip for the outdoors. This boot is really popular for anyone who works outside and needs a safety-toe.

Does the X1 Landscape Boot have a steel or composite safety toe?
Yes. The X1 Landscape Boot has an Asymmetric Safety Composite Toe rated ASTM 2413-18 I/75 C/75 9 (same strength standards as steel toe, but lighter!).

Kujo X4S Waterproof Boot
What is the X4S Waterproof Boot?
The Kujo X4S Waterproof Boot is our 6”, lace-up, waterproof boot option. By using materials like Ripstop and TPU overlays, the X4S boot is really light but also very tough and durable. These come with a waterproof liner to keep your feet dry. These are NOT insulated, but we have a lot of customers that use these in the winter for snow removal (especially if they’re getting in/out of trucks). These really are great for all four seasons, especially while dealing with the outdoor elements of the different seasons.

Are Kujo X4S Waterproof Boots good for working in snow, slush, and rain?
Yes! While the X4S boots are not insulated, the waterproof membrane does a good job of protecting your feet in snow, slush and rain. The thick lugs in the rubber sole provides really good traction in snow. We have a lot of customers that use these in the winter for snow removal (especially if they’re getting in/out of trucks).

Kujo Surge Rubber Boot
What is the Kujo Surge Rubber Boot?
The Kujo Surge Boot is our rubber boot that is 100% waterproof and chemical resistant. It’s a great option for anyone doing fertilizing, spraying, pest control, or pressure washing. What makes the Surge different from a lot of the other rubber boots out there is our thick and soft cushioned insole. We listened to a lot of our customers’ feedback during our development of these and consistently heard that people need a rubber boot that is comfortable for walking 4-8 miles a day while working. Because of this feedback, we made our insole for the surge boots VERY thick and cushioned, to keep your feet feeling good after walking a ton in them.

Can Surge Rubber Boots be used for activities other than lawn care?
Absolutely! While the chemical resistance make them ideal for fertilizing or pressure washing, these boots are really great for any activity in wet conditions where you want to keep your feet dry. They’re a great fishing boot, or an easy slip-on option for heading outside on a wet, rainy day. (Bonus - they look cooler than a dorky rain boot, too).

Kujo Yard Pants
What are Kujo Yard Pants?
When we were creating the Kujo Yard Pants, our goal was to make the most breathable pants for working outside in hot weather, while still being tough and functional. These pants use a lightweight Nylon Ripstop which is the absolute highest quality material available to be light, breathable and tough. To make them even more breathable, we designed an air-mesh panel in the back of the pant leg, behind the calf which gives great air-flow to the legs. We also included an elastic waistband for comfort and a bunch of pockets for function.

Can Kujo Yard Pants be used for activities other than lawn care and landscaping?
Definitely! While we have a lot of people wearing these for lawn care and landscaping, the Yard Pants perform great for any type of work or job outside in hot weather. Our Kujo Yard Pants are really great for exploring the outdoors - so we have a lot of people wear them for hiking or fishing.

Kujo Yard Shorts
What are Kujo Yard Shorts?
Kujo Yard Shorts are very similar to our Yard Pants….but shorter. They use a very light and breathable Nylon Ripstop material, which is also very tough. They have an elastic waistband for comfort and some dad-friendly cargo pockets for function.

What are Kujo Flannel-Lined Pants?
Kujo Flannel-Lined Pants are our option for colder weather. The outside of these pants have a DWR finish (weather-resistance) to help protect you from the elements. The key to these pants is the flannel-lining, which provides really good warmth and comfort.

Are Kujo Flannel-Lined Pants waterproof?
Kujo Flannel-Lined Pants are water-resistant and wind-resistant. They are made from a double-woven softshell fabric designed to shed light rain and snow while keeping you warm with a soft flannel interior. While not fully "waterproof" (like a diving suit), they are engineered to keep you dry during cold weather during the fall and winter months.

What are Kujo Yard Socks?
The Kujo Yard Socks are premium Merino Wool Blend ¾ crew sock. Don’t get it twisted, merino wool is not only for cold weather. What’s great about merino wool is that it’s temperature-regulating - so your feet will stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We built the Yard Socks with a bunch of great features, like targeting cushioning, arch support, seamless toe, and upper ventilation.

Can Kujo Yard Socks be worn year-round?

Do Kujo Yard Socks have compression or arch support?
The socks are constructed with elastic lycra from the top of the sock through the arch area providing stabilizing support for all day comfort - what we refer to as "comfort compression". It keeps the muscles stabilized to help reduce fatigue from constant movement. It’s a lot more than just the arch support area. It also helps to lock in the heel pocket to avoid slipping.

What is merino wool?
Merino wool is a natural, high-performance fiber grown by Merino sheep that is really soft and non-itchy. Unlike traditional wool, it is highly breathable and temperature-regulating, keeping your feet cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It is also naturally moisture-wicking and odor-resistant, making it perfect for working hard outside, where all-day dryness and comfort are important.

X1 vs X4S vs Surge - What Kujo boot is best for me?
It really depends on what you’ll be using your boot for, and what feature is most important to you. The X1 boot and X4S boot are pretty similar (6”, lace-up boot with the same cushioned midsole and aggressive rugger grip). The main difference is that the X1 boot has a safety-toe and is water-resistant, whereas the X4S boot is a soft toe and is 100% waterproof. The surge rubber boot is waterproof, chemical resistant, and more of a slip-on style. If you need a safety-toe, go with the X1 Landscape Boot. If you are spraying fertilizer, pressure washing, or want a rain or fishing boot, then go with the surge boot. If you want a lightweight, lace-up, waterproof boot for all seasons and all sorts of uses, then the X4S might be the best choice.

Water Resistance vs. Waterproof vs. Breathability
All of the Kujo Shoes and Boots are designed to keep feet dry in wet grass. Beyond that, each style is a unique blend of water-protection vs breathability. As you can imagine, typically more waterproofing = less breathability (and vice versa). The most breathable option will be the yard Shoes. The most waterproof options will be either the Surge Rubber Boot or X4S boot. The Kujo Jax and X1 Landscape boots are right in the middle with good water-resistance and breathability.

Is shipping really free?
Yes! We offer Free Standard Shipping on every order, for all shipping addresses within the Continental US.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
Yes, we provide expedited shipping for all orders within the Continental US. The cost is a flat $25 fee. This will ensure your order will be shipped in 2 business days. Keep in mind that an order needs to be placed by noon to ship out that day, and weekends or holidays don’t count towards that 2-day shipping period.
How do I track my order?

Are exchanges and returns really free?
Yes, we offer free exchanges for recently bought items that are still in "new" condition (not worn outside or dirty) for orders in the continental US. If you are outside the US, you may initiate your exchange and return through our portal but are responsible for all shipping charges, taxes, duties, or custom fees incurred.
How do I exchange a product for a different size?
You can initiate an exchange or return from the Orders, Returns, And Exchanges page. Find the item and click exchange button. You'll select the item you want to exchange for, and then download/print a free shipping label and packing slip.
How do I return something for a refund?
You can initiate a return from the Orders, Returns, And Exchanges page page in your account dashboard. Find the item and click the return button. You can then download/print a free shipping label and packing slip. To be eligible for a refund, the product must still be in "new" condition (not worn outside or dirty).
How do I track my exchange or return?

When will my backordered item ship?
Kujo.com Orders: Before adding the product to your cart, your estimated shipping date was provided.
Shop App / Facebook / Instagram: If you purchased through one of our social channels, please check the Product Description for the specific product has a backorder notice and estimated arrival window. To see if your product size/color is on backorder, please check the specific product page at kujo.com.
Multiple Items & Backorder Product(s)
To keep things efficient, we typically ship orders only when all items are in stock. If your order contains a mix of in-stock items and backordered items, the entire shipment will be held until the backordered product is available. This ensures everything arrives together in one delivery.

Delivery Issue
Why does my UPS tracking say "Delivered" but I haven't received my package?
If your order was shipped via UPS SurePost or Ground Saver, "Delivered" often means the package was handed off from UPS to the USPS (the Post Office) for final delivery.

  • Check the Tracking: Look for a USPS tracking ID in your UPS link.
  • Wait Time: Final delivery usually happens within 1–3 business days after the handoff.
  • Check "hidden" spots: Look around side doors, porches, and behind planters.
  • Check the mailbox: Smaller items are often placed in the mail slot rather than at the front door.
  • Ask your neighbors: Occasionally, packages are delivered to a nearby address by mistake.
  • Next Steps: If your package is not delivered after 3-4 days of saying "Delivered", please email us with your order number at support@kujo.com and our Customer Support Team will look into it!

It really depends on what style, color and size you are looking for, as we replenish our inventory all throughout the year at different times. How To Clean
How can I clean my Kujo shoes and boots?
To properly clean your Kujo shoes, we recommend a gentle hand-wash using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush. Start by scrubbing the exterior surfaces to remove dirt and debris, then wipe them down with a clean rag. Avoid using a washing machine or dryer, as high heat and agitation can cause damage.

What to do if my Kujo's shoes / boots smell?
While this isn’t a common issue we’ve seen, we know everyone’s experience can be a little different. A few things that might help are: Remove the insoles and hand wash with warm water / mild detergent, then air dry. Use a delicate wash cycle and let them air dry. Try a shoe deodorizer or spray. Or use a boot dryer to keep them fresh. Hope that helps!

Many customers with plantar fasciitis have reported great results with Kujo. Because our insoles are removable, you can easily replace them with custom orthotics if needed.

Can I try on and test Kujo products?
Absolutely! We want to ensure your new shoes are a perfect fit. You are welcome to try them on at home to check the sizing; however, we ask that you do so only on clean, indoor surfaces (like carpet) to avoid any scuffing or dirt on the soles. For a return or exchange to be accepted, the shoes must be in brand-new, unworn condition with all original packaging intact. Please avoid wearing them outdoors until you are certain you’re keeping them, as we cannot accept returns for items showing any signs of visible wear.

Where is Kujo located / where are Kujo’s made?
We are a small, family-owned company based out of Raleigh, North Carolina (that is where we design and test our shoes/apparel) with some team members in Michigan and Illinois. Our warehouse is in Ohio (that is where we stock and ship our shoes from). Our Yard Socks are manufactured in the USA (North Carolina). Our footwear is manufactured overseas in China. We work with a very high quality, tier 1 factory, and our manufacturer (based in California) has a team of Quality Control Managers that oversee our production runs.
Why was Kujo Started?
When our founder, Shawn was younger, he worked alongside his dad in their family construction business – building homes, remodeling, landscaping, and whatever else needed to get done. He always wore his sneakers to work (to his dad's disapproval)... he just didn't like wearing heavy work boots. He realized that there was a real need for light and comfortable work gear, tough enough to work outside. With his sister, Kelsey, and her husband Craig, they launched Kujo Yardwear in 2018. Why the Name "Kujo"?
"Kujo" was the nickname of David, the cousin of our founder Shawn. Growing up, "Kujo" and Shawn were best buddies, always outside playing. David "Kujo" continued his outdoor passion into his 20's, building community gardens in Detroit, and urging his neighbors to get outside together. Shawn named our company "Kujo" in honor of his late cousin, to pass along the message to get outside!
